He finished in the top ten at the Nicolet College Welding Competition. His dedication and accomplishments this year deserve recognition.

Senior Class Presidential Academic/Citizenship Nomination
Sarah (Lizzy) Bruders - Nominated by Ms. Miranda Johnson
I’m proud to nominate Sarah (Lizzy) Bruders for the Presidential Nomination Award. Sarah is a kind, hard-working student who truly stands out in our school community.
She genuinely cares about the people around her and is always ready to lend a hand—whether it’s helping classmates with their work or supporting her teachers. She puts real effort into her projects and brings passion and energy to everything she does.
What really makes Sarah special is the way others look up to her. When she walks into the classroom, her classmates often turn to her for help and guidance. She brings a different point of view that helps others think in new ways, and she does it all with respect and kindness.
Sarah’s positive attitude, leadership, and strong character make her a great example for others. She’s a student we can all be proud of, and I believe she’s very deserving of this award.

Senior Class Presidential Academic/Citizenship Nomination
Kyle Braaten - Nominated by Mr. Jason Slawinski
I have nominated Kyle Braaten to receive this award for his excellent leadership and outstanding academic achievements. His academic achievements include being voted a first-time member of the National Honor Society. He continually demonstrates outstanding knowledge in science, and has been a great asset in helping other students understand the more complicated areas of chemistry and physics. His excellent leadership is routinely demonstrated in the classroom and on the athletic field. He served as a captain on both the Goodman - Armstrong Creek basketball and baseball teams as well as helping and leading students on the more complicated physics and chemistry projects. However, it is not just athletics and academics where Kyle’s leadership shines. He has been instrumental in mentoring younger students in the weight room on becoming stronger and healthier. Kyle does this on his own time in the mornings before school.

Senior Class Presidential Academic/Citizenship Nomination
Brooke Adlebush - Nominated by Mrs. Rachel Melcher
I chose to nominate Brooke for this award because of how much maturity she has shown since she came to Goodman-Armstrong Creek. When Brooke first joined our school, she was quiet and seemed a little scared. I am sure that everything was so new for her and pretty overwhelming. The other students at this school welcomingly accepted her.
Her academic maturity has truly shined in her senior year. Math has been a subject she has struggled with in the past and still has some areas that challenge her. In class, she has been able to help other students which is a huge accomplishment for her. She has become more willing to share her thoughts and answers. When her answers are off track, she accepts the constructive criticism given to improve her learning. I am proud to see this growth and how she is strong enough to understand that being wrong is okay, as this is a step to continue to learn.

Some students in Autos have been working on a side project that a local resident asked to complete for the Veterans Memorial on Hwy 8. They were placed on the outside of the school to dry yesterday and I thought it was worth taking a picture and posting. Great job!

One of the Autos students has resurrected this classic from sitting in a field for 20 years. Amazing vehicle that it runs after some amazing work of a student. Next up is paint in Auto Body class next year. Great job shinning up an old penny.

Here's what been going on in the art room at the Elementary school:
PK-2nd grade created mini-artist selfie portrait magnets with a painting on an easel. 3rd/4th grade are in the process of a choice 3D sculpture building project using found objects in the art room.
5th/6th grade are working on a colored pencil drawing. They picked out 6 random words from a bin and had to plan out an illustration using those words. Photos to come later on their final pieces.
Amazing, creative work happening in the art room lately!

Congratulations to Lauryn Dwight for being voted the Artist of the Month!
She did a watercolor painting of an original character. She joined the other students from the 8 other schools in the Art Student Association for a lunch and to meet with a local artist. The local artists this time were Clare Tomasoski and Bonnie Jewell. They showed the students how to needle felt. The process is so much fun to watch.
Congratulations to Lauryn and all the artists this month!

On Tuesday, April 29th, the high school students (9th to 11th grade) went to Blackwell Job Corps - Construction Trades Career Fair.
We had a few winners from a raffle as well! Super exciting, educational trip!
