Goodman-Armstrong Creek (GAC) is nestled in NorthEast Wisconsin, 20 miles south of Florence, 15 miles west of Pembine and 17 miles east of Laona WI.
GAC is home to 110 students 4K-12, who partner with the Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District for all sports through the Patriot Co-op. Though we are the 2nd smallest district in the state, our students have opportunities much like that of a larger school. Utilizing their 1:1 technology they are connected to classes online, they have access to our Fab Lab, and they are connected to NWTC for their Start College Now classes. We have an extremely supportive community and school board. Indicative of that support, we recently passed a referendum that enabled us to make operational improvements to our facilities, and expand programming for our students. Many of our services are shared, including, Pupil Services, School Counselor, Speech, OT/PT and the Business Manager works 3 days per week.
This position is a blend of both 4K-12 Principal and Superintendent.
Please feel free to contact the current superintendent to ask specific questions about the position. The Board is looking for a candidate with some superintendent experience as this position will require you to wear more than one hat. The School District works collaboratively with the 3 other districts in the area (Florence, Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine and Niagara) as a consortium. We align our calendars for shared professional development, grant writing and shared leadership. It is a dynamic structure!
We just passed our operating referendum last April and have a strategic plan already set in place moving into the next cycle. The School Board is forward thinking and wonderful to work with. They will give clear direction as to what is needed in the position. The office staff is wonderful and very effective.
Our teachers are amazing and we have a high retention rate. They are self starters and are willing to be teacher leaders.
Please visit the WECAN site to apply.
Deadline for submitting application is Friday, February 28, 2020
